"“The vengeance of Hell boils in my heart, Death and despair flame about me!”
The aria of the Queen of the Night, betrayed by her own daughter for her own betrayal in turn. Cruelty begets cruelty, after all. Beyond rolls onto his stomach and laughs into the mattress.
The theme of the song is betrayal. Yes, betrayal, now that he considers it. Betrayal, bereavement, bastard child! And surely no coincidence that they all start with “B”, either! B is for beyond, is for backup, is for not as planned. It’s a theme!, he thinks. How funny, how positively hilarious it is that Beyond’s life is full of themes! Betrayal, and cruelty! One act of cruelty for another—L, do you know? An eye for an eye! An eye for an eye for an eye for an eye and an eye for an eye and the whole world goes blind!
The soprano’s voice swells and trembles and it’s so beautiful that Beyond catches himself nearly moaning from the brutal force of feeling.
Now that, ladies and gentlemen, is art.
He falls asleep with the tear tracks still damp on his face."
Beautiful picture for a very beautiful fiction. X3 Though I haven't read the entire thing (there's more, right?) that excerpt is just...humbling. o_o
Two details about the picture that really caught my eye: first the rose. The details on the layers of petals really caught my eye, and it adds an elegance to the piece. Like the piano in the corner--out of curiosity and amusement, does Beyond play the piano? XD Knowing his genius he probably could teach himself within a day or so, but also I can see him just sticking it there for show so when L comes over to do the biblical hokey-pokey he thinks B is a sensitive musician. It's late at night and I'm overanalyzing...
Aww thank you very much! I'm not sure what "humbling" means in this case , but that excerpt is my favourite because it tells of many things within only a few lines: truths, irony and tragedy. The fic features a Beyond who's more damaged than twisted. It's a B that I want to read in fanfics. I also love the overall humorous tone of it. It makes the story even more poignant~
As for the piano, well-- I don't know . Just decided to torture myself so I drew it haha. But now that I think about it, that piano adds depth to the pic where the radio, while supposed to, fails because of wacky angle~ Nonetheless, your theory is probably right~
The writing excerpt is humbling for me because I am a fanfiction author, and it's very good writing. XDD It makes me feel somewhat inferior, but not enough to go down in a spiral of depression because like I said--it's good writing. I want to enjoy it. Also I agree with wanting to see a Beyond who's more damaged than twisted. It was damage that made him twisted, after all, being a spare of another person supposedly better than him. 'That sucks' doesn't even cover it.
As for the piano it also takes up space. I also like it there because it just makes the room appear more centered. Plus the whole crack back story of it.
Thank you. I also probably shouldn't compare them because I portray Beyond Birthday in a different light than Jester's fiction, accenting his quirky humorous side more than his darker tributes because one of the things I loved about Beyond was the weird things he said. Like when he told Misora he's a "top."
I love the way you drew the room! Its a lot better than how I imagined it
It looks very cozy...I would live in there with him....if it weren't for the whole....you know...."I'll kill you" thing I feel like that room would be really high up for some reason...I love that skylight! This room reminds me of my old house, that I miss living in very much Brillant work!
Haha I almost forgot you already read that fic ^^~
I guess people would be like "where have the white shirts and blue jeans gone?" . I like to think of B as very sexy -before he L-dified himself- hence the sexy outfit. ^^
